Lupus occurs in women 90% of the time; it is not rare though for a males to develop it. Lupus is more common and severe in African-Americans. Asian-Americans., Native Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Majority of the people who get diagnosed with Lupus live in the United States and are of certain ethnicity. .It does not affect the white population as much as it affects other populations. Pregnant women who have lupus and/or is carrying a child with lupus has a higher chance/rate of a miscarriage.
